If you drive non-stop, anything between 2 and 3 days.

pavlos, as I’ve not done that drive myself, I can only guess. Approximately 20 hours. Why would you want to drive along that way? Would it be a rented car (if so, you’ll have to take it back or pay a hefty extra charge)?

as i have driven from rio to natal i can assure you that it will take a solid 4 days driving non-stop with two people. even with lots of reckless driving and blind overtaking of the trucks going 30kph wont get you there any quicker. however, if you have 3 or 4 of you in the vehicle and really drove round the clock (madness) you could get there in 3.

Hi Nick, I’ve not driven from Rio to Natal (nor I would dream of doing so) so my calculation are based on the time it takes the bus to cover that route. Bear in mind you get from Rio to Fortaleza by bus in 44 hours. I’ve had family driving from Belém to São Paulo in less than 3 days (arguably, a much longer and wild route).
But then, I would not advice anyone to drive non-stop. Actually, I wouldn’t advice anybody to drive during the night anywhere north of São Paulo.
