From Guarulhos airport to São Paulo’s bus station

How do I get from Guarulhos airport to São Paulo’s bus station?

In actual fact, there are three major bus stations in São Paulo, known as rodoviárias in Portuguese. The most important one is the Terminal Tietê, from where buses to most destinations depart. This is the one most tourists will want to get to, as buses to the north coast of São Paulo, Paraty, Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Florianopolis and the south leave from here.

The easiest way of getting to the Terminal Tietê is taking the shuttle bus service that links Guarulhos to the bus station. There is one every 50 minutes and the price of a single ticket is R$30. The trip can take between 25 minutes and 1 hour depending on the traffic.

The second bus station is the Terminal Jabaquara. Buses going to destinations along the southern coast of the state of São Paulo leave from here. That includes Guarujá and Santos. The easiest way of getting to the Terminal Jabaquara is to take the shuttle bus to the Terminal Tietê, and then board the blue line of the underground that connects both stations.

The third station is the Terminal Barra Funda, that few tourists will need to use.
