Brazil in pictures: ipê trees in São Paulo

March 22, 2007 | By More

Come winter and São Paulo has a wonderful surprise in store for visitors and residents alike: the flowering ipês (genus Tabebuia). The ipês are at their best for approximately 10 days between June and July.

The flower of the ipê is a national symbol of Brazil (until 1978 the entire ipê tree was a national symbol).
