Affordable accommodation in São Paulo

Where can I find affordable accommodation in São Paulo?

São Paulo has a huge quantity of hotels, but up to a few years ago, the hotel chains where more interested in catering for the thriving business sector than for the leisure one. There were – and still there are – lots of top-star hotels far beyond the budget of the average tourist.

The situation has changed. The opening of a series of Ibis and Formula 1 hotels in the region of the avenida Paulista has opened new possibilities for tourists. You can now stay in São Paulo on an excellent location for an affordable price. The hotels are: Formule 1 Paulista, Formule 1 Paraíso, and Ibis Paulista. The latter is a bit more expensive as it is located on the avenida Paulista itself. The three of them have an excellent location, a few meters away from the underground network. The cost of a night at the Formule 1 Paulista is R$79 for a room (where up to three people can sleep) without breakfast.

Both the Formule 1 hotels and the Ibis hotels belong to the Accor chain. On its website you can check the location of the hotels and the prices, and make bookings. The hotels are quite basic, the rooms are small and tidy, without any luxury items on them.

N.B.: This is not an accommodation review. I am in no way related to the hotels mentioned on the post.
