Although there are no direct flights between Brazil and Australia, the agreement that contemplates the maximum number of flights allowed between the two countries per week has been revised and the number has gone up from 7 to 14. The agreement allows for flights with stopovers.

LAN has announced a new three-times a week flight São Paulo – Sydney with a stopover in Buenos Aires. Operation starts on 24 November. LAN will fly the São Paulo – Buenos Aires leg. Quantas will fly the Buenos Aires – Sydney leg.
