Floresta Nacional do Tapajós, Amazon, Brazil

So gone is April, a quiet month in foreign tourism terms.

We opened the month in wonderful Paraty. What with a recent update to Google’s imagery on the region, we were finally able to publish our map of Paraty.

Some people might not like it, but the fact is that tourism on the Amazon region is a foreign affair.

We published our guide to the São Paulo Indy 300 race, 2011 edition.

Our sister-blog D Airfare is now on Twitter.

Always great to report good news, such as the creation of a Natural Park to protect most coveted beaches in Búzios and its region.

We had a quick look at the figures for foreign tourists in Brazil in 2010.

We gave a few guidelines on the hot topic of car rental in Brazil.

We ended the month on a sad note about new threats to the Iguaçu National Park, where the puma population vanishes while the GM crops approach the park.

Check our blog post when to visit Brazil, month by month to see which destinations are recommended for the coming month and which ones are best avoided.
