Manaus, Amazonas

So May 2011 is gone. Time to have a look at the topics we published in the blog during the last four weeks. We began the month of May with good news for travelers arriving in the Brazilian capital: there is a new shuttle bus from Brasilia airport to town.

The news is not so positive when we look at a a new Brazilian reality: sky-high prices. To make matters worse for tourists, low season in Rio de Janeiro is now a thing of the past. Brazil today is an expensive tourist destination.

Anyone making early preparations must be aware of the dates of the 2012 carnival in Brazil.

If you were thinking of attending the Rock in Rio festival you’ll be lucky if you got hold of a pair of tickets, as the tickets for the Rock in Rio festival are sold out.

Back on the Amazon, we dealt with unreasonable expectations: the Amazon is not a zoo. And we published some tips on Amazon riverboat trips.

We saw some spectacular 360º panoramic photos of Rio de Janeiro and the Iguassu Falls.

All the best for you traveling during the month of June!
