Casa Florence, a fantastic place to stay in Rio de Janeiro

October 30, 2012 | By More

Today I am delighted to talk about Casa Florence, a gem of accommodation in Rio de Janeiro run by my friend Alison McGowan, the director of Hidden Pousadas Brazil.

When Alison is in Rio (don’t take that for granted, as she spends a sizeable time of her time travelling around Brazil) she makes one suite of her penthouse apartment available to guests.

Bedroom and views

You can rent a beautiful bedroom with fantastic views to the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and the Corcovado Mountain.

As well as your private bathroom, you will have access to an open-plan kitchen and a sitting room you are free to use. There’s free wi-fi and on the second floor you will discover a terrace with the most fantastic views of Rio.

On the terrace you will find a cool jacuzzi you are also welcome to use.

Still on the terrace, a shaded dining area makes for a beautiful dining room with views to the Lagoa on one side and the Pedra da Gávea on the other side.

The location

Casa Florence is right in the middle of Leblon, considered by many the best neighbourhood of Rio. Many of you will have discovered that affordable (and quality) accomodation in Leblon or near-by Ipanema doesn’t come easy.

From Casa Florence it’s a short walk to the beach in one direction, the Lagoa right in front, or the Botanic Gardens in the other direction. All within walking distance! Leblon is very well connected to the rest of the city through a system of buses (including one bus taking you to Ipanema subway station).

Come the night, there is a great number of bars and restaurants in the vicinity of Casa Florence – never mind the rest of Rio de Janeiro!

To find out more

If you’d like to find out more about Casa Florence, visit Casa Florence @ Hidden Pousadas where you will be able to check rates and availability as well as some more additional information.

This is not a paid review nor I am being commissioned by Casa Florence. Go, check it out and if you think it fits your needs, go ahead with your booking. I definitely loved the place but then, different people, different likes and dislikes.
