<p>As well as other big world cities with a strong soccer tradition, São Paulo has a handful of unmissable visits for the footie fan.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tonygalvez/2924597582/" target=" blank" title="estadio do Morumbi by tonygalvez, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3064/2924597582_677fa990aa.jpg" width="500" height="377" alt="estadio do Morumbi" /></a></p>
<p>One of the most important of such points is the <strong>estádio Cícero Pompeu de Toledo</strong>, aka <strong>estádio do Morumbi</strong>, owned by São Paulo FC. It is the largest stadium in town, currently seating up to 72,000 spectators (in 1977 a mind-blowing amount of 146,082 spectators gathered at the stadium to watch a state championship final). As well as the home owners, other São Paulo teams use the Morumbi stadium ocassionally (the local derby Palmeiras &#8211; Corinthians is almost certain to take place at the Morumbi stadium for security reasons). The stadium is also the venue for international rock concerts.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tonygalvez/2905318140/" target=" blank" title="estádio do Morumbi, São Paulo by tonygalvez, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3107/2905318140_7bf913e556.jpg" width="500" height="370" alt="estádio do Morumbi, São Paulo" /></a></p>
<p>Inside the stadium you can visit the <strong>Memorial do São Paulo</strong>, a small museum where the home team proudly displays its trophies and other memorabilia.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tonygalvez/2904474351/" target=" blank" title="estádio do Morumbi, São Paulo by tonygalvez, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3268/2904474351_0ba625aeaa.jpg" width="500" height="377" alt="estádio do Morumbi, São Paulo" /></a></p>
<p>Many players that became famous playing in Europe defended first the São Paulo FC colours. You will recognize them in the photos and displays at the museum.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tonygalvez/2905319614/" target=" blank" title="estádio do Morumbi, São Paulo by tonygalvez, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3131/2905319614_5505cb47e7.jpg" width="500" height="377" alt="estádio do Morumbi, São Paulo" /></a></p>
<p>Inside the Morumbi stadium (access through a different door) you will also find the Santo Paulo Bar. From its tables you can have a snack and a beer while contemplating a view of the stadium in all its glory.</p>
